Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said that Serbia’s orientation toward dialogue is not a sign of weakness. He said that Serbia is determined to solve all problems through dialogue, peacefully, but those who believe that it is a sign of Serbia’s weakness are fooling themselves. He was speaking a that the 150th anniversary of the founding of MUP's elite formation, the Gendarmerie (Zandarmerija). Dacic said that since the police and Gendarmerie were founded, they have always been on the side of the people and will always defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. He said that Serbia has the power to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and that everyone who believes that that they can tear the country apart must know that the Serbia's answer to this will be strong. Dacic said that the members of the police force and gendarmerie, as well as the rest of the security forces, are prepared to preserve security in the country and protect all its citizens, as well to maintain public order and peace, and to fight against crime, corruption and terrorism.
