The Serbian Army (VS) Military Academy senior year cadets today staged an exercise at the Pasuljanske Livade ranges in central Serbia. Small Serbian-made unmanned aerial vehicle Sparrow was presented, while the drill went under the theme, “Integration of Combat Capabilities on Tactical Levels”. Miloje Miletic, foreign defense envoys accredited in Serbia and representatives of the local self-government. Pointing to the significance of the "restored confidence in the military education at home and abroad", he said that last year a total of 117 members of foreign armies were trained at the Military Academy, while 192 members of the Serbian Army were being trained overseas. The defense minister expressed his satisfaction with the Friday decision of the Committee for Accreditation and Quality Control to approve the establishment of a military university. Sutanovac said that the exercises have showcased the readiness of Serbia's army to participate in peacekeeping operations, recalling that members of Serbia's defense system will this year take part in two more UN peacekeeping operations - in Lebanon and Cyprus. Sutanovac said that 2010 will be recognized as the year of completion of major social reforms, and "introduction of professional, new, modern system of military service".
