Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said that he expects the ICJ decision on the legality of Kosovo’s independence to be in Pristina’s favor. “I expect that the opinion of the ICJ will begin a new epoch, a new era for Kosovo,” Thaci told Reuters during a visit to Istanbul. Thaci: ICJ decision to be in Pristina’s favor He said that the decision of the International Court of Justice would lead to the eventual membership of Kosovo in the United Nations and European Union, adding that it would also begin a new phase of relations with Serbia. Thaci rejected the possibility of secret negotiations with Belgrade. "As far as the statements that Belgrade was spreading and supporting that there will be new Kosovo status talks, they can forget about that,” Thaci said. He said that talks between Pristina and Belgrade could only be led on an inter-state level between two independent countries.
