Ecology Minister Oliver Dulic protested the announcements that the Global Ecological Fund (GEF) will be accepting Kosovo in its ranks. Dulic has sent the international organization a letter of protest. Minister protests inclusion of Kosovo in GEF He cited UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and seven founding acts of that organization which state that only UN member-states and specialized agencies of the UN can become members of the organization, according to the ministry. Deputy Ecology and Spatial Planning Minister Aleksandar Vesic will be attending the fourth assembly of the Fund in Uruguay on May 24, at which the adoption of a document welcoming Kosovo into the GEFis expected to take place.
