Serbia's Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic has opened the Danube Strategy and Economy of Knowledge conference in Belgrade on Tuesday. The goal of the conference, it was announced ahead of the gathering at Belgrade Institute of International Politics and Economics, is to promote ways in which Serbia can enhance its capacity to successfully create a general strategy for the Danube in cooperation with the EU. Danube strategy conference opens The conference, according to the organizers, will promote ideas for strengthening scientific cooperation between the countries of the Danube region and will try to intensify the activities of scientific communities in their support for common European values, sustainable use of natural resources, waste water treatment and environment protection. The conference is being organized by the deputy prime minister's Cabinet in cooperation with the International Scientific Forum Danube – River of Cooperation, the Jaroslav Cerni Institute and the Institute for International Politics and Economics.
