The Serbian parliament has today begun its regular spring sitting, with a ceremony in Belgrade this Tuesday.

The Serbian parliament has today begun its regular spring sitting, with a ceremony in Belgrade this Tuesday. A unit of the Serbian Army (VS) Guards was present, while a choir performed the national anthem – all according to the new law on parliament. Parliament starts regular spring sessions At the agenda of the first two sessions are 32 bills and other acts. Among them are bills on amnesty, preschool education, student standard, game and hunting and markings of geographical origin, as well as a draft law on customs. The agenda envisages that MPs also discuss bills amending Laws on Corporate Income Tax, Citizens Income Tax, State Survey and Cadastre and International Road Traffic Transportation. Parliament will also debate bills on Serbia’s borrowing from Erste GCIB Finance from Amsterdam, Marfin Bank from Belgrade and Vojvodjanska Bank from Novi Sad, as well as on giving state guarantees for Banca Intesa from Belgrade in borrowing of Srbijagas company. It has been proposed that MPs review 15 bills on confirmation of international treaties and contracts, as well as several staffing decisions. The parliament has two regular sittings – spring, which begins the first working day in March, and autumn, which starts in October. The regular sittings cannot last longer than 90 days.
