Opposition agrees on closer cooperation

An agreement was made between Serbia’s main opposition parties for closer cooperation. At the Saint’s Day, or slava, celebration of the New Serbia (NS) party, leaders of NS, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) met to talk about cooperation. Opposition agrees on closer cooperation The host and NS leader Velimir Ilic met with DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica and SNS President Tomislav Nikolic. After two hours of talks, Ilic said that it is clear that good will for cooperation exists. “It is not important who the leader will be,” Ilic said, stating that an agreement for cooperation is most important, adding that the opposition leaders must meet more often in order to “do something good for Serbia.” Nikolic said that closer cooperation was agreed on, and that there are no disagreements regarding leadership in the opposition. “We agreed to begin cooperating publicly closer than ever,” Nikolic said, adding that there are no conflicts between the opposition party leaders. Kostunica, however, did not wish to comment the meeting. (Tanjug)
