Serbs in the northern Kosovo town of Kosovska Mitrovica on Wednesday night celebrated Christmas Eve. The celebrations were held at the St. Dimitrije church in the northern part of the ethnically divided town, and in the Banjska monastery, also in the north of the province. Serbs in K. Mitrovica mark Christmas It was announced that Serbs would be able to visit the rebuilt temple of St. Sava in the southern, ethnic Albanian part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Their visit would be organized, and secured by Kosovo police, KPS, reports said. The temple was destroyed in March 2004, when ethnic Albanians attacked Serbs and their holy places across Kosovo.
