Minister talks "diaspora's potential"

Minister for Diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic says that his ministry will "continue to improve relations" with Serbs living abroad. Sreckovic believes that those Serbs represent a "great potential for Serbia's economic development". The minister reminded that some four million Serbs live outside the homeland and that political and economic ties based on partnership should be established with them. He also spoke in favor of the Serbs abroad being given investment opportunities in Serbia. Speaking for the country's state broadcaster RTS, Sreckovic said that "one of the ways to achieve better cooperation" was the fact that Serbs living all over the world, rather than just those in other European countries, "will starting Jan. 1 be able to watch RTS via satellite".
