Vojvodina assembly PMs have adopted the 2010 budget draft for the province, with a total value of RSD 56.45bn (about EUR 583mn). Along with the opposition, the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) and other parties of the Hungarian coalition voted against the budget draft. Vojvodina budget adopted SVM President Istvan Pastor said that the debate on the draft was concluded too early, considering the fact that the state has yet to adopt its 2010 budget. Pastor said that the budget limits the realization of the projects of the Fund for Capital Investments, because four of the total RSD 10bn will have to be set aside for Corridor 10. The provincial assembly rejected all 26 amendments proposed by the Serb Radical Party. The Radicals and Democratic Party of Serbia officials said that the budget is not developmental and that there is no social dimension, adding that it will do no good for the Vojvodina citizens. The opposition said that the budget deficit of RSD 10.5bn poses a great danger to the foreign exchange rate and inflation, and that it will have a negative effect on the paying back of credit to international financial institutions.
