Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic met in Belgrade yesterday with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut. The two discussed the current situation and the status of human rights in Serbia's southern province, the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija stated late on Tuesday. Minister for Kosovo meets with OSCE official Bogdanovic underscored that the OSCE had to, as part of the international legitimate presence in Kosovo and Metohija, maintain its neutral character in keeping with UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and to be more efficient in protecting human rights of the Serbs and other non-Albanians. Brichambaut agreed with Bogdanovic that the OSCE Mission in Kosovo has to protect human rights of all citizens, underscoring the mission's commitment to act within the framework of Resolution 1244, the ministry's statement said. The OSCE official welcomed Belgrade's constructive stand, concluding that mutual constructiveness and cooperation may contribute to solving the problems in Kosovo more comprehensively and efficiently, the statement concluded.
