Kosovo president and prime minister Fatmir Sejdiu and Hashim Thaci called on Kosovo residents to maintain peace.

Kosovo president and prime minister Fatmir Sejdiu and Hashim Thaci called on Kosovo residents to maintain peace. They also invited them to have faith in the "effective rule of law and investigations of crimes". Sejdiu, Thaci call for "preservation of peace" “Local legislative institutions and EULEX, within the authorities they have, will take all needed measures to secure the investigation of all post-war crimes,” the two said in a joint statement. They also said that politics should stay out of the courts and called for transparency stating that it is “needed for full support of the law.” The statement adds that “any kind of actions outside the framework of the institutions” in Kosovo is "unacceptable". The joint statement of Sejdiu and Thaci was the first that came after a scandal broke out when former member of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the outlawed Kosovo Intelligence Agency (SHIK) Nazim Blaca said that he was responsible for a number of political assassinations ordered by Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). EULEX has begun an investigation into Blaca’s claims.
