A new Gallup Balkan Monitor public opinion survey shows that as many as 44 pct of the Serbian citizens believe that the current government is performing badly. Only those polled in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia had worse opinion of their respective governments, European Fund for the Balkans Executive Director Hedvig Morvai-Horvat said during the presentation of the survey in Belgrade on Tuesday. Govt. receives poor marks in survey According to this, one only percent of Serbians think that the cabinet led by PM Mirko Cvetkovic has excellent results, 16 percent think it is performing well, 32 percent marked its work as satisfactory, while the rest view it as very poor. The Government's EU Integrations Office head Milica Delevic said she was not surprised by the results, but added that she expected the lifting of the EU visa regime to "gradually start restoring the trust in the government". The survey was commissioned by the EU, and was conducted in September, on a sample of over 1,000 persons over the age of 15. The poll also shows that Serbians view the EU primarily as a chance for free movement, economic development, and the Serbian economy's enhanced presence in the world market.
