B92 has seen Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz’s new report, which states that Serbia has made “new progress” in cooperation. The latest report by Brammertz, which will be presented to the UN Security Council in early December, is very favorable for Serbia. Hague prosecutor's report “favorable” The report states that Brammertz is “satisfied with the efforts of the Serbian government, which is implementing cooperation with the Hague Tribunal at this moment,” B92 has learned. He also calls for efforts to continue until new positive results are reached, alluding to the need to arrest of the remaining Hague fugitives Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic. Brammertz wrote that in the last six months, security agencies have continued to intensively search for the fugitives, adding that coordination between the agencies has also improved. It also states that there are no more unresolved demands from the Tribunal for transferring documentation from the state archives. The Serbian government enabled witnesses to appear in the Hague court, and “in specific situations, the police and war crimes prosecution took the necessary measures to secure safety for potentially endangered witnesses, which is a field in which oversights had been seen earlier.” The decision of the Netherlands on agreeing to unfreeze the interim trade agreement between Serbia and the European Union depends on how Brammertz will present his report to the UN Security Council and in consultations with EU foreign ministers. The trade deal is part of the SAA, signed between Serbia and the EU over a year and a half ago, and immediately suspended. A file photo of Serge Brammertz (FoNet)
