The PM has opened a meeting of the permanent mixed committee, set up under an agreement on succession between the successor states to the former Yugoslavia. At the opening of a two-day meeting, Mirko Cvetkovic pointed out that, five years after the Agreement had taken effect, the issues of returning tenancy rights, pensions and frozen foreign currency saving deposits had not been entirely addressed. Prior to the meeting on succession, Serbia’s High Representative for Succession Gaso Knezevic stated for Tanjug that more than 95 percent of the assets of the former Socialist Federal republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ) had been distributed among its successor states, and that the remaining unresolved issues related to old foreign currency savings accounts, mixed banks, military property and state archives.
