Opposition leader slams MUP-EULEX deal

Opposition DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica today accused the government of humiliating the country with the MUP-EULEX protocol. "EULEX in its official documents recognizes Kosovo as a state that has its borders, and for that reason this signature of the current government has humiliated Serbia, turning its back to our people in Kosovo," said Kostunica, who was Serbia's prime minister for two terms and heads the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS). Opposition leader slams MUP-EULEX deal In a statement for Beta news agency in Belgrade this Saturday, he added that the police cooperation protocol renders ours the only country in Europe that is voluntarily providing a signature for the establishment of a border on a part of her territory, making Serbia an accomplice in the recognition and creation of the "state of Kosovo". "The current government is using a policy of lies to mislead the citizens in the crudest manner, saying that the agreement with EULEX on setting up a border between Serbia and Kosovo is in our country's interest," stated Kostunica.
