The Serbian government will try to find a solution for the problems of Zastava Elektro, whose workers have been on strike for six months. According to Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic, one of the possible solutions is to find a strategic partner for the company. Dinkic to meet with Zastava Elektro workers He said that the state will try to, in the meantime, secure jobs for the factory which would enable the workers of the Raca-based plant to earn money. Workers' representatives have accused the current administration and Director Ranko Dejanovic of falsely reporting investments and purchasing old equipment and machines. The workers are asking the Privatization Agency to cancel the contract with the current owners of the company because of this. Last week they took their protest to Belgrade, while on several occasions prior to that they blocked the railroad. Serbian Railways has decided to press charges againt the workers, citing financial losses due to the disruption of its service.
