G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic is busy negotiating with local and regional party chiefs, in a bid to form a new party, a daily writes. Vecernje Novosti says that the outcome of these talks is expected in September, while the founding congress is planned for November at the latest. Dinkic "putting together new party" But officials of G17 Plus, which is part of the ruling coalition in Serbia, declined to discuss the details of the negotiations until there are concrete results, the article says. However, the newspaper reports that it learned Dinkic met recently with local leaders that included Kragujevac and Zajecar mayors Veroljub Stevanovic and Bosko Nicic, as well as the CEO of Hemofarm pharmaceutical company and "informal leader" of the Vrsacki Region – European Region Movement, Miodrag Babic. The platform for these talks contains only two items: decentralization and administrative regionalization of Serbia. What is already clear, the article continued, is that the new party would have Dinkic, currently economy minister, at its helm, while local and regional leaders ready to merge with G17 Plus would occupy the top positions. The name for the new party is yet to be decided on, "but it will not be G17 Plus", the daily concludes.
