Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic will be attending the summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in the Egyptian resort of Sharm-el-Sheikh over the next three days. Jeremic said that Serbia would be battling against intense pressure on Non-Aligned member-states to recognize Kosovo’s unilateral independence declaration. Jeremic attending Non-Aligned summit “That’s a fierce struggle for every capital, for every vote. It’s not a fair fight. Our rivals in this match are some of the most influential countries on Earth,“ said the minister ahead of the summit’s opening. “We have, however, been fairly successful in that struggle so far, and I hope that we’ll continue to resist those pressures in future,“ he said. Jeremic stressed that Kosovo would be the main theme of both his talks today with member-state foreign ministers of the biggest movement in the world, and those between President Boris Tadic and those countries’ heads of state on Wednesday and Thursday. The minister added that Serbia would officially be presenting Belgrade's candidacy to host the movement’s 50th anniversary summit in 2011, as it did the very first summit in 1961.
