The Kingdom of Bahrain in the Persian Gulf has become the 60th country in the world to recognize Kosovo's unilateral independence, the state agency BNA reports. "Given the religious and cultural ties between the people of the two countries and respecting the Kosovo people's will for independence, the Kingdom of Bahrain announces that it recognizes the Republic of Kosovo as an independent state," read a statement from the Bahrain Foreign Ministry. Bahrain recognizes Kosovo Earlier, the Pristina authorities announced that Kosovo had been recognized by the Comoros, an island state in South-East Africa. The province's ethnic Albanians unilaterally declared independence over a year ago. Belgrade rejects this proclamation and considers it illegal.
