Kosovo Ministry State Secretary Oliver Ivanovic says that there is no willingness for Serbs to integrate into the KPS without any limitations. “We’re not asking for a separate command chain, as Serb members of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) have to be partially integrated, but their status has to be separate in the sense that we have foreigners as intermediaries at every higher level,“ Ivanovic told daily Politika. "Serbs won't return to KPS unconditionally" According to Ivanovic, there needs to be a EULEX member responsible for coordination with Serb officers between municipal and regional police stations. EULEX should take responsibility upon itself for initiating contact with the Serb authorities, added the Kosovo ministry official.
