The second assembly of the opposition Liberal-Democrats (LDP) in Belgrade on Saturday reelected Cedomir Jovanovic as the party leader. Nenad Milic was appointed his deputy, while party vice-presidents will be Natasa Micic, Judita Popovic and Nebojsa Randjelovic. Jovanovic reelected LDP leader According to Jovanovic, it is the "public interest that orders the LDP to, along with others, and without letting up and abandoning the political principles that the party stands for, make a deal on the future". He repeated that it is the party's stance that the "Kosovo policy" should be changed, "in order to through friendship and partnership with Albanians show that Serbia can be a different county". "Europe, toward which we move by walking in place – we are allegedly getting closer to it by refusing to understand that Europe is not a new passport, but a European value and idea that gives that paper meaning. And Hague – some have been convicted at the Hague, but Hague did not, not two years ago, not two weeks ago, try the policy that has been found to be criminal through verdicts read," Jovanovic was quoted as saying. Social-Democratic Union (DSU) leader Zarko Korac, who along with diplomatic and NGO representatives attended the gathering, said that "Serbia is changing slowly", but that "in this fight all those who are in minority must be persistent". "They are watching us, this big nationalist Serbia, and when they attack us they are aware that we exist, and Serbia, strangely, forgives more of their mistakes than ours. She forgives them their nationalist programs, their wars and their tragedies. She forgives us only a little, she watches us carefully and for this reason we must make as few mistakes as possible, for this reason we must be consistent, and for this reason we must be more persistent," he said. The party manifesto presented at the assembly proposes scaling down the government to 12 portfolios, tax cuts, education system reform, Vojvodina's autonomy, decentralization and improved healthcare. Veteran historian Latinka Perovic received an award for her work "Zoran Djindjic: Ethics of responsibility".
