Officers of the MUP anti-terrorist units and military's special unit Kobra will stage an exercise at the police training center in Kula on Thursday. The exercise will be attended by First Deputy PM and Interior Minister, Ivica Dacic and French Ambassador to Serbia Jean-Francois Terral, the Serbian police (MUP) announced in a statement. Top MUP, army units in regional drills The French ambassador's presence is explained by the fact the drill was organized by French RAID unit instructors, whose members will demonstrate their protection of persons skills. The exercise will also see participation from members of the special police units of Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Bulgaria, the statement said. This comes after a similar event last week at the Belgrade airport, when the special police dealt with a terrorist hijacking of airplane scenario. Also on Thursday in the north of the country, Serbian, Hungarian and Romanian soldiers will in Titel perform the final part of the Tisa 2009 military exercise, aimed at training the troops to assist civilians. The exercise will be attended by Serbian Army CoGS Lt. Gen. Miloje Miletic, Hungarian Chief of General Staff Laszlo Tombol and Romanian Joint Operational HQ Commander Major General Ghica Radu. The military exercise, which has been under way in Novi Sad and Titel since May 12, demonstrates the capabilities of the armed forces of the tree countries to assist civilians in natural disasters such as the flooding of the rivers of Tisa and Tamis.
