Inzko, Djelic discuss EU integration Inzko will also be meeting with President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic during the day. Earlier, Inzko said that a stable and prosperous Serbia, integrated into the European family, is vital for the region’s stability. “Serbia has intensive contacts with the EU members in its vicinity, which is certainly good, as regional cooperation and good neighborly relations are an essential part of the process of Serbia moving towards the EU,“ Inzko told daily Politika. He said that Serbia had cause for optimism when it came to liberalization of the visa regime, which, in his opinion, was a very important issue for citizens in the Western Balkans. “In the case of visa regime liberalization, Serbia has grounds for optimism, which is borne out in statements by EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn, whose office is due to submit recommendations prior to the end of the Czech EU presidency’s mandate on June 30,“ said Inzko ahead of his visit to Belgrade tomorrow. The high representative observed that from an overall perspective, the Western Balkan countries had progressed “unevenly“ over the past year, in terms of implementing reforms and meeting set conditions and criteria, and that Serbia was in front of Bosnia-Hercegovina in certain segments.
