Debate on the controversial anti-discrimination law is continuing in parliament today. At the start of today’s session, the opposition exercised its right, defined by changes to the Code of Procedure, to ask political questions. The debate on the draft law began yesterday. All the ruling coalition parties, barring United Serbia, have announced their support for the law, while the opposition Liberal Democratic Party says that it too will back the bill. The Serb Radical Party, the Democratic Party of Serbia and New Serbia say they will oppose the law, calling it a “bad“ proposal. The Serb Progressive Party says that it will support the bill provided that the amendments that it submitted are adopted. The bill outlaws all forms of discrimination, explicitly that based on race, sex, ethnicity, social background, birth and religion.
