Agim Ceku told a Montenegrin TV that there was no organized trade in organs harvested from kidnapped Kosovo Serbs in 1999. The former Kosovo prime minister, and one of the leaders of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), also said that former Chief Hague Prosecutor Carla Del Ponte was "biased". Ceku denies organ harvesting in Kosovo The allegations first publicly surfaced in Del Ponte's book last year. The Serbian War Crimes Prosecution believes that it was the KLA who during and after the 1999 conflict in the province kidnapped hundreds of Serbs, transported them across the border to northern Albania, where their vital organs were removed to be sold in the black market. Del Ponte was frustrated, Ceku said on Monday, and for this reason she published claims that crimes were committed against the kidnapped Serbs and other non-Albanians. He also said that he heard about the organ harvesting case from the former Hague prosecutor. Ceku believes that she had "special motives" for the claims that appeared in her memoires. "She was pretty frustrated with the KLA. I think she had no reason, but she was interested to make as many accusations against the KLA as possible. I think she was biased in her work," said Ceku. "These are such monstrous accusations that they deserve a detailed investigation and they deserve that we all take part in it and say what we know. Personally, I know nothing, and personally I can't believe that something like that happened. But, let the investigation show," he stated. Ceku then said that he "did not commit, did not see, and does not know of crimes in Kosovo", but added that "if there were any, they were individual cases, which happened only after the war was over". "When the war was over, there was uncontrollable return, and then it happened. I responsibly claim that it was not organized or orchestrated," he said of the crimes.
