Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader will lead a economic-political delegation visiting Belgrade on March 20. This was confirmed by the President of the Serbian Parliament’s Foreign Policy Committee, Dragoljub Micunovic. Croatian PM to visit Belgrade Micunovic met yesterday in Zagreb with Sandader and Croatian President Stjepan Mesic. This will be Sanader’s first visit to Serbia in two years. Micunovic said that Sanader will meet with Serbian officials to discuss the open issues between the two countries, focusing on economic cooperation. “Of course, we opened all the questions on the table currently – the Hague suits, the refugee question, and the border issue, etc. It is up to the two government’s to cooperation and find a solution for that,” Micunovic said after meeting. “The talks were very active, with desire, pragmatisms, for find a solution and the wish, of course, to participate together on the economic aspect and various projects. So the talks were very promising for future meetings of the governments,” believes this official.. He also said that Mesic stated that he wants to visit Belgrade before his mandate ends. It was also announced that President Boris Tadic would visit Croatia in May. Micunovic said that in all of these visits, one of the main topics will be the suit and countersuit in the International Court of Justice. “I said that these suits are pointless, that the problem should be solved between the countries. They did not fanatically insist on these allegations, not expecting any special kind of results,” Micunovic said. “Despite that fact, there needs to be economic cooperation. Also, things important to the entire region, infrastructure, ecology and a list of energy projects, everything is on the table and cooperation must be sped up,” he concluded.
