EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn has called for the organization not to abandon its policy of allowing in new members, reports say. "Those who claim that the loss of jobs is a consequence of the enlargement, have no arguments to support their claim," Almunia said. The Czech EU presidency will on March 2 in Prague host a conference dedicated to the "positive influence of EU enlargement on the prosperity of new and old EU members".
