The EU Council of Ministers will convene in Brussels on Monday to discuss Serbia's cooperation with the Hague Tribunal. The discussion will include the possibility of sending an EU fact-finding mission to assess cooperation, representatives of the Czech EU presidency said on Friday. EU to discuss Serbia, Hague on Monday “The first step in the debate was the presence of Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz on Wednesday at a meeting with ambassadors, while the next step will be a debate by EU ministers on the possibility of sending a fact-finding mission,” said a Czech presidency official at a press briefing in Brussels. EU diplomatic sources said that, at Wednesday's meeting, Brammertz had confirmed that Belgrade's cooperation had improved, as had coordination between the Serbian security services, but the fact that Ratko Mladic was still at large remains a problem. The ministers will also debate the situation in Kosovo. Sources in the EU Council of Ministers said that UNMIK Chief Lamberto Zannier had met on Monday with EU Foreign Policy and Security Chief Javier Solana, but they did not give any more details about the meeting, which was held behind closed doors. On Monday, foreign ministers will also be able to nominate candidates for the new special representative to Bosnia-Hercegovina and address Montenegro’s candidacy application.
