“DSS still running Interior Ministry”
Daily Borba writes that the police and the Interior Ministry are still run by the same people that were there when DSS official Dragan Jočić was the minister.

Daily Borba writes that the police and the Interior Ministry are still run by the same people that were there when DSS official Dragan Jocic was the minister. According to Borba’s sources, Jocic appointed friends, relatives and party allies to these positions. “DSS still running Interior Ministry” The daily states that the indecisiveness of the Democratic Party (DS) and the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) when it came to making new appointments led to a situation where many of the top posts are still occupied by people loyal to the opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), of whom there are still some 700 serving within the ministry. Under the coalition agreement between the DS and SPS, the Interior Ministry was given to the SPS, and its leader Ivica Dacic became interior minister. Borba’s sources claim that the SPS was not overly interested in that position during negotiations with the DS. The DS, however, intended on keeping the post of police chief, though in the end the position was retained by Milorad Veljovic, himself a Jocic appointee, Borba writes.
