Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic met in New York on Tuesday afternoon local time with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Jeremic said after the meeting that Ban confirmed that the United Nations' position remains that the six-point plan must be applied in its entirety in Kosovo. Jeremic urges implementation of six points The foreign minister also revealed that Ban will in March report to the Security Council on the progress in the plan's implementation. "This is very important, considering that the Security Council has given a mandate to the international community to make the six points a reality," Jeremic said. He added that Belgrade is dedicated to the document, and that the authorities will actively cooperate with the UN in applying it. Serbia accepted the deployment of EU mission EULEX in Kosovo after it agreed on the six-point plan with the UN late last year. The UN, Jeremic also said, are not giving up on their presence in the province, their role defined by UNSCR 1244, or the implementation of the plan. Serbia will "in the days, months, and if need be, years" to come fight to preserve the state and constitutional order using peaceful, legal, political and diplomatic means, he said. "Never, not at any price, and not in any way will we desist from that fight. That is our constitutional, political and moral obligation and we will persevere until the final victory." The foreign minister will continue his visit to UN HQ on Wednesday, when he is scheduled to meet with the Russian and Chinese UN ambassadors.
