Serbia, Portugal in defense cooperation

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac met with his Portuguese counterpart Nuno Severiano Teixeira who was on a visit here on Friday. Sutanovac stated that NATO recently made some decisions that did not strengthen its relations with Serbia, but added that "we must bear in mind that countries such as Slovakia, Romania and Greece, which did not acknowledge the Kosovo and Metohija's unilateral proclamation of independence, are within this alliance as well". Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic also met with the Portuguese defense minister, when a joint conclusion was reached that the cooperation between the two countries needs to be promoted, particularly in the area of defense, reports said. A statement released by the government's press office said that Cvetkovic thanked the Portuguese government for its support extended to Serbia on its path to European integration and visa liberalization.
