The Democratic Party (DS) in Vojvodina has dismissed claims the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) refuses to support the Vojvodina Statute in parliament. Dusan Elezovic told daily Danas that the SPS had supported the draft Statute in the Vojvodina Assembly four months ago and intended to do the same in parliament at the end of February or at the first session in March, underlining that there was no kind of quarrel. DS: SPS supports Statute “I spoke personally to the SPS’s entire leadership, both yesterday, the day before yesterday, and all the previous days. Among others, I spoke with Dusan Bajatovic, the leader of the Vojvodina SPS, who confirmed more than once that the opinion they expressed in the Vojvodina Assembly, when they supported the proposed Statute, had not changed and that they would support adoption of the law in the national parliament,” said Elezovic.
