Talks between experts on the protection of cultural and historical heritage in Kosovo are planned for next week in Pristina, the media are reporting. Pristina's Albanian-language daily Koha Ditore wrote on Saturday that the meeting will have the format of a round table. Kosovo: Round table talks first? UNMIK Spokesperson Alexander Ivanko confirmed for the daily that this UN mission has sent out invitations to Pristina and Belgrade, and that experts of UNESCO and the Council of Europe have also been invited. Ivanko could not say whose participation has been confirmed at this time, but pointed out that "experts are expected to attend so that this question could be considered". Sources confirmed for the paper that the meeting is to have the form of a round table, at which experts from Pristina and Belgrade will take part. Asked whether Kosovo Albanian leaders would take part, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said he supported Fatmir Sejdiu's statement, when the Kosovo president said talks were possible, as long as they "do not infringe on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo".
