Union of Vojvodina Hungarians (SVM) leader Istvan Pastor has dismissed claims of a rift within the party. The SVM presidency last night decided to expel 14 members from Zrenjanin, signatories of a an open letter which accused Pastor of bad party leadership, nepotism, and also criticized the fact that the party was governed from Subotica. SVM leader denies party rift “We’ve concluded that these are false accusations, and that the letter contains half-truths and falsehoods,” Pastor told a press conference in Subotica. He said earlier that the members in question had been “offended by lost MP or other functions after the elections.” Pastor denied rumors that the party’s honorary leader, Jozef Kasa, was behind the “Zrenjanin situation”, stating that he had seen this for himself when speaking with Kasa yesterday.
