Trucks belonging to Serbian shipping companies have been banned from crossing the Greek border, report say this Sunday. This comes since Serbia failed to fulfill its obligation to make road tolls equal for both countries' companies. Transport companies barred from Greece Last year's permit has expired, and the Greeks have not renewed it, the Ministry of Infrastructure confirmed for B92. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also gotten involved in the issue, with its officials saying that they expect it to be solved by Monday. Reports say that Greece informed the Serbian side of their decision on Jan. 20. In 2002, Serbia and Greece signed an agreement that set road tolls at the same level for transport companies from both countries. And while the companies blame the government, the Infrastructure Ministry says they were taken by surprise by the Greek decision, adding that "no announcement was made during last year's mixed committees meeting, or in December". Road tolls for foreign vehicles in Serbia are on average some 30 percent higher than those charged to domestic drivers. Serbia also charges between EUR 80 and 100 for entrance into the country.
