Kosovo Minister Goran Bogdanovic and Serb officials from northern Kosovo say that the formation of the KSF runs counter to Resolution 1244. Bogdanovic said that the conduct of KFOR and other international organizations in Kosovo that were encouraging Serbs to enter the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) was unacceptable, stating that the Kosovo Ministry and Serb officials in Kosovo would do their utmost to stop Serbs from joining the unit. “KSF is breach of Resolution 1244” Zubin Potok Municipal President Slavisa Ristic told a press conference that municipal presidents in northern Kosovo had warned KFOR officials that they would jeopardize good relations with the Serb community in Kosovo if they continued to support the KSF. “We told them that they must keep in mind that the step from a soldier in a peacekeeping mission to an occupier is really small, and that they’d come dangerously close to the line where people will call them occupiers because of their support for the KSF,” he said. Bogdanovic met in Kosovska Mitrovica with officials from the Zvecan, Leposavic, Kosovska Mitrovica and Zubin Potok municipalities to discuss the political-security situation in the province.
