Committee tells Serbs to boycott KSF

The Committee for Kosovo on Friday says establishment of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) may pose a serious and permanent security threat in the province. This parliamentary committee also and called on Serbs not to take part in the creation of this paramilitary formation, Tanjug reported. Committee tells Serbs to boycott KSF The committee concluded that setting up of the KSF is contrary to international law and documents of the United Nations, and requested the competent state organs of Serbia to prevent violation of Resolution 1244 through sharp diplomatic activities. The committee evaluated that "establishment of permanent peace in Serbia's southern province required UN forces to carry out full demilitarization of Kosovo and Metohija, because paramilitary groups in that part of Serbia are the biggest threat to peace in the region as a whole". In its conclusion, the Committee appealed to the Serbs in Kosovo to "ignore every provocation by Albanian extremists". The committee believes that the problems in the province are the state and national issue of the highest order, which should not be used as a cause for partisan disputes, "because that is not in the interest of the survival of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija". Also on Friday, President Boris Tadic sent a letter to the United Nations, protesting the formation of the Kosovo Security Forces.
