EC sings Serbia's praises

The EC and the EU’s Western Balkans Committee said on Monday that Serbia was one of the best candidates for liberalization of the visa regime in the region. The European Commission (EC) was presenting its evaluation to the Western Balkans Committee of the readiness of the West Balkan countries for visa regime liberalization. As Tanjug was told by sources close to the meeting participants, “Serbia was deemed to be one of the best candidates with the most comprehensive report, which was especially commended.” EU member-states now have until the end of the week to react and send their suggestions to the EC. Afterwards, the EC will prepare a report to be presented to the EU member-states, and then to the missions on the field in candidate-states, before the EC prepares a final draft that may include the exact dates for finalizing processes. The EC evaluation does not state any exact dates and deadlines, say Tanjug‘s sources.
