Serbian, Chinese defense ministers meet

Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and his Chinese counterpart Liang Guange have signed a military cooperation agreement. According to Sutanovac, it represents a legal basis for Serbia for all forms of cooperation, including education and joint maneuvers. The minister invited the Chinese Army to take part in parachute exercises in Serbia, while the possibility was also raised of exhibiting Chinese aircraft at a Serbian air show next year. “A very important part of the exchange will be military medicine. We believe that the personnel we can offer China are pretty good on the one hand, and that the Military-Medical Academy’s (VMA) capacity, on the other, to offer education and training to their doctors is very impressive,” he said. Sutanovac added that China had its own personnel taking part in peacekeeping operations in a number of countries, who were, primarily, medical personnel, which was a good form of cooperation “that VMA members general medical staff in the army could participate in.”
