Due to failure to meet its obligations and the parliamentary impasse, citizens won't be able to enjoy visa-free travel to the EU till early 2010, says Dnevnik. EU sources say that the Serbian authorities have not kept their promises to replace the old passports with biometric ones by December 31 this year, and that they have extended the deadline for the replacement of travel documents until the end of 2009. "Schengen white list not till 2010" The same sources state that the obstruction in parliament by the Serb Radical Party has thwarted the adoption of laws necessary for the country to accede to the Schengen White List. "Given that Serbia has not kept its part of the bargain, its chances of reaching the white list by the middle of next year are remote," the sources told Dnevnik.
