G17 Plus leader Mladjan Dinkic says the ruling parties should bear some of the responsibility for the parliamentary blockage, and find a remedy to the situation. At a session of his party’s main board, Dinkic said that a weak opposition could let us “drop our guard, which G17 will not allow“, and that parliament had to continue its work, and that, if need be, find a way of amending the Code of Procedure. G17: Govt. to carry can for parliamentary impasse “Starting from October, a way has to be found to prevent obstruction of parliament’s work, and that’s why the authorities are responsible,“ said the economy minister. He believes that the opposition should criticize the government, be constructive, but not “bring life in Serbia to a standstill, not block parliament’s work, and debate their own internal problems.“ “The weak opposition that’s blocking parliament’s work is putting on hold all Schengen and anti-corruption laws that are needed for EU integration, and we have to work, and we must not allow our citizens to be denied the right to travel freely to the EU next July,“ said Dinkic. He added that a G17 Plus Ordinary Assembly would be held on December 14 where a president, four vice-presidents and 12 Presidency members would be elected, and where the party’s executive board would be revamped.
