"Next Monday, I expect the logical and normal decision for the interim trade agreement with Serbia to be implemented," Djelic told reporters. He underlined that he had met today with the EU member-state ambassadors with a view to convincing them to urge their governments to unfreeze the interim agreement. The minister pointed out that Serbia had important allies on this issue—European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier and EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn—all of whom have said they will advocate the implementation of the interim agreement on Monday. He stated that he had also informed EU ambassadors about everything that Serbia was doing in the sphere of European integration. Asked whether he was hopeful that Serbia would receive a positive answer in Brussels, Djelic stated that he was being objective, since Serbia had done everything in its power with regards to cooperation with the Hague.
