G17 Plus will not sign a declaration on political reconciliation with the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS). Party vice-president and Health Minister in the new Serbian government Tomica Milosavljevic confirmed this today. Ruling coalition party in no mood for "reconciliation" “We believe that parties should deal more with citizens and their problems and not with mutual relations. By solving existential problems we would create political stability. We have had enough of declarations and papers. Citizens expect results,” Milosavljevic said in an interview for the daily Vecernje Novosti. A declaration on political reconciliation is expected to be signed by now partners in the cabinet Democratic Party (DS) and Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), while the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) which, together with G17 Plus and DS, was on a pre-election coalition ticket, said they would not sign the document. The need to come up with the declaration stems from deep political differences that the DS and SPS had until recently, especially while led by Zoran Djindjic and Slobodan Milosevic respectively during the 1990s.
