Singapore will back Serbia's move to seek advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over Kosovo. This was confirmed today by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, who spoke to Tanjug news agency after a meeting with Singapore's officials. Singapore to support ICJ initiative Serbia will look for support for the move to ask the ICJ to give its opinion on the legality of the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral proclamation of independence, at the September UN General Assembly session in New York. "I can say with pleasure that I have been informed by Singapore Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Balaji Sadasivan in today's talks that Singapore will vote in favor of the resolution that Serbia will submit at the UN," Jeremic said. "Singapore does not intend to recognize the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo and Metohija and it considers this a dangerous precedent that could cause instability throughout the world," the foreign minister said. Within this diplomatic offensive aimed at securing the widest possible support to Serbia's initiative, Jeremic yesterday visited Malaysia, which decided to freeze the procedure of the recognition of Kosovo, and to adopt its definite decision about Serbia's ICJ resolution ahead of the General Assembly meeting.
