K. Serbs warn against "escalation"

The Serbian National Council (SNV) in Kosovo called on the international forces "to prevent a destabilization in the region". The SNV stated that it is up to the international community in Kosovo to not allow any escalation of conflicts and destabilization of the province which “several [Kosovo] Albanian officials have been advocating on a regularly basis recently”. It added that such an approach to solving problems in the province is absolutely unacceptable and inadmissible, and said that Serb in Kosovo will cooperate with the international community and "do everything to stop any further escalation of conflicts and the destabilization of not only Kosovo, but the entire region". “The SNV does not accept anarchy and violence as a method of achieving goals and calls on the international community to return the problems of the province to legal courses, to be solved exclusively in accordance with international law and respecting Resolution 1244,” the council added in a statement issued in the Serb enclave of Gracanica yesterday.
