Serbia's Hague Cooperation Office head says that Radovan Karadzic's extradition was fully in line with legal procedures. Dusan Ignjatovic told B92 that he is "inclined to believe" there was no appeal to the decision to extradite the former Bosnian Serb leader to the Hague Tribunal, and that his lawyer's reluctance to reveal if an appeal had been sent was a ploy to buy time. Official: Extradition in line with law In the meantime, Karadzic's defense team confirmed that no appeal had been lodged, and explained the stalling as an attempt to allow his family to travel from Bosnia to Belgrade to see him in detention. Today, Ignjatovic said that the necessary documents will be delivered to the Karadzic lawyers to help his defense if they exist in the state archives. He also said the overall cooperation between Belgrade and the UN war crimes court based in The Hague is "on a more than satisfactory level", and cited that more than 95 percent of 1,700 requests have been positively solved, with 44, out of 46 indictee extradited. Ignjatovic added he "does not expect the Tribunal to give up on Ratko Mladic", but said the Karadzic arrest "broke the ice", and "proved that the state is not hiding either Mladic or Goran Hadzic" – the remaining two fugitives.
