The SRS are to stage an All-Serb rally on Tuesday in Belgrade against “the traitorous and authoritarian regime” of the president. “The rally won’t be a Serb Radical Party (SRS) gathering, but has been conceived as a rally of all those free-thinking people in Serbia who have the bravery at this moment in time to openly oppose the dictatorship that has been led in recent days by dictator Tadic,” SRS official Nemanja Sarovic told a press conference. SRS to stage "All-Serb Rally" Sarovic said that the rally would begin in Republic Square at 19.00 CET and would last an hour, after which participants would set off in a “media walk”. For “safety reasons”, he did not wish to divulge the route that the protest would take. On behalf of the Radicals, Sarovic called on all media to report from the rally, promising that all possible security measures would be in place during the protest. He added that the SRS would not allow “the secret services and hooligans sent by Tadic to cause any incidents, and distract media attention away from the rally.” The SRS official said that leaders of political parties, academics, leading intellectuals, and representatives of patriotic NGOs would be speaking at the event. Representatives from the Democratic Party of Serbia-New Serbia yesterday announced that they would be joining the SRS at the protest.
