Tomislav Nikolic says the SRS will table a proposal today calling for the dismissal of Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic. The Serb Radical Party (SRS) deputy leader told a press conference that Djukic-Dejanovic, following consultations with President Boris Tadic on Monday, had adjourned parliament’s work for two weeks, thus, as he put it, contravening several articles of the Constitution and the Code of Procedure. Nikolic calls for speaker's resignation In a written explanation distributed to journalists, it was stated that the speaker, “by failing to adhere to the provisions of the Code of Procedure and contravening the Constitution, carried out Tadic’s orders and adjourned the session in flagrant disregard of the Code’s provisions concerning the conditions under which a session can be suspended, and thus directly placed the parliament at the service of carrying out the will of the Democratic Party leader.“ Nikolic added that the proposal would be sent to the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and New Serbia (NS), from whom he expected a response during the course of the day.
