A new BIA chief is to be appointed at tomorrow’s cabinet meeting, Beta reports. Sasa Vukadinovic, the director of the Administration for the Execution of Penitentiary Sanctions, is mentioned as the most serious candidate for the position. New BIA chief to be appointed Rade Bulatovic, who was in charge of the security services (BIA) from 2004, resigned a day after the new government was formed. The Council for National Security has also received new members. Upon formation of the new government, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic automatically became a member of the council, as did Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Justice Minister Snezana Malovic. The Council members include the president, prime minister, defense minister, interior minister, justice minister, the head of the Serbian Army (VS), the BIA director, as well as the heads of the military security and the military intelligence agencies within the Defense Ministry. The Council was formed on the basis of a Serbian government decision last May, and is tasked with guaranteeing the country’s national security.

Rade Bulatović, who was in charge of the security services (BIA) from 2004, resigned a day after the new government was formed. The Council for National Security has also received new members.

Upon formation of the new government, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković automatically became a member of the council, as did Interior Minister Ivica Dačić and Justice Minister Snežana Malović.

The Council was formed on the basis of a Serbian government decision last May, and is tasked with guaranteeing the country’s national security.
